Beach Tennis, anyone?
A group of professional Beach Tennis players came to Chelsea Piers last Friday to show off their hybrid game, which combines the fundamentals of volleyball and tennis played with a regulation racket and slightly depressurized ball. As part of the fourth year of the Beach Tennis USA National Tour, pros volleyed with amateurs over the 5-foot, 10-inch net on Pier 60’s sand court. “Beach tennis is like the anti-tennis,” explained one of the event’s organizers.
