Mayor’s Fortune Cookies
Mayor Bloomberg, on a visit to the Ninth Ave. headquarters of Google last Thursday, stopped to examine a cookie frosted with the New York Giants “NY” logo. Dressed in a Giants tie—just days before the team claimed an upset victory in the Super Bowl—Hizzoner declared, “Go Blue!” to the crowd gathered at the Chelsea offices for a Q&A session with the media mogul. “The difference between New York and any other city is, we are a mixture, and any other city is a mosaic,” Bloomberg said in his opening remarks with Google employees. “I think you will find this becoming much more of a mecca for technology.” Google moved into the Port Authority building between 15th and 16th Sts. in 2006, where the company occupies three floors of the block-long building.
