Hitting the right notes

Philadelphia native Sonny Forriester, Jr. belts out a tune for spare change at 14th St. and Eighth Ave. on Friday, despite freezing temperatures and chafing winds. A Vietnam veteran, guitarist and former member of ’60s Philly soul group Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Forriester was in town for the week, promoting his single, “Nice Girl,” and vying to get on the David Letterman Show.
