Chelsea Now photo by Jefferson Siegel Give peace a chance On Sept. 26, for the 72nd consecutive Tuesday evening, Chelsea Neighbors United to End the War manned their familiar post at the northwest corner of 24th St. and Eighth Ave. for their weekly antiwar vigil. The group, formed in the wake of the August 2004 Republican National Convention, feels they are the conscience of the neighborhood, reminding residents and passersby alike that a local antiwar effort is alive and well. Participation by any and all is welcome. Organizer Chuck Zlatkin said the same thing last Tuesday that he has been saying all along: “We’ll be out here every Tuesday night until the war is over and the troops are home.”
